WGN has some exciting news!

WGN has some exciting news! On March 1, 2021, WGN America will officially rebrand as NewsNation and expand its primetime news programming to 5 hours every weeknight!

NewsNation remains committed to delivering fact-based and unbiased news, and we are looking forward to building on the solid start of the nightly news program. With this expansion, NewsNation will deliver viewers more fact-based national news and regional stories from across the U.S., as well as coverage of the day’s most important issues.

Beginning March 1, the NewsNation weeknight primetime lineup will be as follows:

6-7 p.m. ET: “NewsNation Early Edition with Nichole Berlie”- Rapid fire news updates from around the country, all in one fast hour

7-8 p.m. ET: “The Donlon Report” – Mix of news and interviews with today’s top newsmakers, covering the biggest stories in news, sports, entertainment and culture

8-10 p.m. ET: “NewsNationPrime” – Formerly “NewsNation”, “NewsNationPrime” will continue delivering special features and complete coverage of the day’s events

10-11 p.m. ET: “Banfield”- Award-winning journalist Ashleigh Banfield’s nightly talk show, with in-depth interviews with major newsmakers, politicians and celebrities

Hope this letter finds you safe and healthy. We know these are trying times financially for many and Rainier satellite is going that extra mile to ease the burden. As many know it’s normal for all pay TV providers to have an annual increase in programming prices the first quarter of the year. Rainier is breaking that rule for our consumer platform for 2021. Even though our yearly programming costs, addition of channels, and business operations have cost us more lately, as President of Rainier Satellite I’ve made the decision to eat those costs and freeze our programming prices to our valued customers for 2021. We know you value the entertainment we provide for you, and want you to be able to afford and enjoy this entertainment during these trying times.

I’d also like to let you know if you’re having problems making your renewal payment all at once Rainier Satellite offers Paypal Credit to help you defer that cost. There is no Interest if paid in full in 6 months with Paypal Credit. See our website to apply for Paypal credit.

DMX Music Channels leave FTA!

On April 29th, 2019 Comcast HITS removed the 40 plus DMX music channels from their lineup. These were well know by many after being on the 4DTV platform and been in the clear for many years. Their replacements are scrambled and no longer available to FTA users.

More FTA content is going away soon! ABC Networks has announced they will be transitioning to a different mode of transmission this summer that cannot be received by FTA receivers. Rainier is working on options to replace network programming that will be lost.

Attention Newshounds: Its been announced news feeds for CBS and ABC are moving away from satellite delivery. Free feeds continue to dwindle.

Rainier Satellite is sorry to see any satellite channels leave be it FTA or subscription nature. The amount of FTA channel departures are increasing at an alarming rate as many left last year with the trend continuing this year. All is not lost if you own a big dish.

You can keep your dish from becoming a birdbath by filling it with entertainment as a Rainier Satellite subscriber. In fact Rainier continues to add channels to our packages while FTA channels continue to disappear.

If you been following Rainier’s progress get ready for a treat. We’re getting ready to announce the acquisition and launch of even more cable TV channels that have been asked for by you the big dish owner. Rainier has worked hard to get to this milestone.

Superstation WGN is Back & launching on Rainier Satellite in PURE HD!

Rainier Satellite is proud to announce were bringing back one of the original C band Superstations, WGN. WGN left C band in 2007 with the shutdown of its VC-2 signal by Motorola. The PowerVu HD signal has been picked up by Rainier through contract agreement for c band TVRO sale. WGN America currently is available in approximately 80 million pay television households.
